...career waitress...
I'm a true lifer. It's what I am. I've been waitressing all my life and I love every minute of it. I always felt waitressing came very easy to me and I wouldn't want to do anything else. I enjoy the people, I enjoy the work. Everyday I ask God to help me memorize what people eat. I really want to do the best I can, everyday. And I want that person who I'm waiting on to feel special.

...on difficult customers...
Well you have the great people who come in that are nice to you and treat you really good and then you have the people who think, you have to be here to serve them. I don't have to be here. I'm here because I want to be here. My husband makes a good living so I don't have to come to work everyday if I don't want to. And I'm very upfront with them about that. Be nice to me and I'll be nice to you. But don't do that mean stuff to me because I don't do it very well. I tell them, "Don't pop my bubble, I'm in a good mood today."

...work ethic...
I have to be really sick not to go to work. When I broke two of my toes, I just cut out the toes of my shoes and I went to work. Now these other girls would stay home for 3 weeks while it healed. Not me though, I was right there. And that's not the first time I've worked with a broken toe, you know. I don't like to call in sick and cause a hardship for somebody else. Once I came into work with a cracked rib and my manager sent me home because I had trouble breathing, but I would have stayed if she hadn't told me to go home.
